Quantum technologies were more in evidence than before at MWC 2025, in part reflecting Europe’s and even Barcelona’s prominent position in the field. It also reflects concern over the potential of quantum computing to overcome the protection offered against eavesdropping and data theft by public key cryptography (PKC). This year, the event hosted ‘Quantum Europe,’ to show some of the advancing capabilities as MWC’s part in the International Year of Quantum Science and Technologies (IYQ).
