India’s two big telcos, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, unveiled agreements to offer broadband services over Starlink’s LEO constellation within a day of each other in late February 2025 – just in time for MWC 2025. These are subject to regulatory approval, which has been hard to obtain so far, with Starlink itself being denied its application for satellite broadband license in the country two years ago by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
