It is a hard pill to swallow, when a coal mine is described as “green and zero-carbon,” but this is the latest update from Huawei’s private 5G segment. The vendor has announced a project with an unusual sustainability spin, but more interestingly, shows a 5G Advanced (5G-A) private network operating at full throttle in the industrial sector. Huawei, alongside three other firms, is providing the world’s first fleet of 100 5G-A autonomous electric mining trucks at the Yimin open-pit mine in Inner Mongolia.
