Deutsche Telekom has announced an RFQ (request for quotation) for 30,000 sites outside Germany. The way that DT packages up this new network deal will be an important signifier for two key themes in the RAN community: the role of Open RAN and the role of Huawei. Senior Vice President of RAN Disaggregation and Enablement, Thomas Lips, announced the tender to the audience at the FYUZ conference in Dublin last week. It will begin in January.
