Ericsson has made an unspecified investment in telco software firm LotusFlare, popular with many tier one operators, to boost its own Network API offering. This is yet another investment from Ericsson in the Network API world, even though the profitability of Ericsson’s API ventures remains elusive. Last week, the two firms announced an equity investment and strategic partnership. Kickstart Ventures, the venture arm of Globe Telecom, the Philippine telco, also participated in the investment round. Globe is already a customer of LotusFlare.
