There was very little talk of sustainability and climate adaptation in the keynote speeches at the great gathering in Barcelona last week. This follows a broader trend of falling interest in climate concerns on an international stage, no doubt influenced by the climate change denial of the current US government and a rise in organized movements opposing climate policies. This trend was illustrated by the lack of climate issues on the agenda at the World Economic Forum this year.
