The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has warned that developing countries could face significant risks in the growing global green hydrogen market unless steps are taken to create just and sustainable supply chains between producers and off-takers – in this case Global North and Global South respectively. Rethink believes that if the green hydrogen industry matures to its full potential, then we will stand to see a power shift in the global economy, away from fossil fuel producers and towards green energy producers.
