The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced bold new regulations that would effectively force US automakers even further towards electric vehicle (EV) production. According to the EPA’s own estimates, complying with these new measures would look like car manufacturers producing 67% of new vehicles as electric. As part of the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act, the Biden Administration set a target of 50% new vehicle sales by 2030, this new guidance gives momentum to passing that level with ease.
