Anterix has been building up its position as a private 4G network provider for US utilities for some time, and it could provide a blueprint for other industry-specific private operators, which are expected to account for significant expansion of enterprise services in the 5G era. The company stands to benefit from the FCC’s order in May, to make 6 MHz of spectrum in the 900 MHz band available for broadband services.
