AT&T’s milestone of nationwide US coverage for 5G of some form has raised again the question of what benefits consumers obtain from early services concentrated largely in the low 850 MHz band. All that consumers can really hope for from 5G at this stage is faster download speeds for files and higher bit rates for improved video quality, but even those are not always being delivered.
