British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) will buy a minority stake in Philippine tower company Pinnacle Towers from KKR for an undisclosed amount. Pinnacle is the largest independent tower company in the Philippines and is expanding at pace, with support for the sector from the Philippine government. Since it was founded in 2020, Pinnacle Towers has grown to become the largest independent tower company in the Philippines, with around 7,000 towers. Pinnacle has benefited from the Philippine government’s Common Tower Policy, encouraging the construction and use of shared towers by independent tower companies, rather than proprietary towers owned by telcos.
