Semiconductor specialist Ceva has announced that it has now passed the 20 billion milestone, for devices shipped that use one of its designs. CEVA’s success hints at the scale of connectivity out there in the world. The firm, specializing in connectivity and sensors, acts as a lens to consider how little of this total the MNOs have control of, despite at one point being essentially the sole provider of wireless connectivity, with an iron grip on the available handsets in the market.
