In step with the global macroeconomic picture of widening inequality, the market for telecom vendors is also becoming more starkly divided between the haves and have-nots. Just five vendors (Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE, and Samsung) dominate the industry, and even among this elite group, Huawei and Ericsson are increasingly becoming champions in their domains. The Swedish vendor and Chinese vendor were the winners of 2024, in a subdued market for overall sales. Ericsson succeeded by winning big contracts in the US market, while Huawei continued its strategy of competitive pricing in non-aligned countries.
