Two Danish firms, Ørsted, a major gas company turned wind farm operator, and Skovgaard Energy, a renewable energy project developer, have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on building a Power-to-X facility in Idomlund, Western Denmark that has the potential to house a 3GW electrolysis plant. The facility will to be built in several phases, and it can therefore play two major roles in Denmark’s economy. Being the first Power-to-X facility in the country it can kickstart the Danish Power-to-X industry as well as establish an export economy for large quantities of renewable hydrogen.
