The next wave of 5G New Radio (NR) standards should be finalized at a 3GPP plenary next month, the final round of meetings having kicked off this week in Samsung’s offices in Busan, Korea. The work is on the 5G NR Standalone specifications. Before AT&T and its allies successfully pushed the 3GPP to bifurcate the Release 15 standards work, fast-tracking a subset of the specs, this would have been the initial 5G platform.
