Following the UK’s decision a few weeks ago to allow Huawei a limited amount of access to the country’s 5G RANs (though not the cores), other European countries are starting to make up their minds too. However, if operators and Chinese vendors hoped that the results of various national security reviews would bring certainty to their 5G decision processes, they will be disappointed. The UK is reportedly considering a change of policy following furious reaction from the USA at the decision to allow Huawei to be present even in just 35% of 5G and fiber networks.
