Rethink Energy has published a new report analyzing battery raw material supply chains up to 2030, looking at how current raw material prices will affect future supply and whether or not this can meet demand. The report also analyzed battery cell prices and how prices will continue to fall amidst rising demand. 2023 saw a return to form for lithium-ion battery pack prices as they fell from $151/ kWh to $139/ kWh year-over-year. This was because of falling lithium salt prices fueled by sudden oversupply in the market enabled by overstocking by Chinese converters.
