If there’s one thing that crosses the aisle of American politics, it’s tariffs on Chinese imports. The Biden Administration is understood to be planning to increase tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) to a total of 102.5%, up from its current level of 27.5%, in a move to protect the country’s redeveloping automotive industry. 100% of the 102.5% tariffs are solely because the imports are of Chinese origin, while the remaining 2.5% is a general tax on global automotive imports.
