China’s GOTION HIGH-TECH – or Gotion as it’s better known – has announced that it has produced a battery capable of competing against the likes of CATL’s and BYD’s fast-charging lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. It claims that its “G-Current” battery can recharge from 0% to 80% in 9.8 minutes and provides the user with nearly 500km of range in that time. Gotion is talking about the performance of a 75 kWh battery it claims “was developed to cater to market demand” and is on pace to be delivered as standard to automotive OEMs for early 2025 following mass production.
