The GSMA is using its influence on European policymakers to promote drastic changes to spectrum policy to the benefit of MNOs. The plans neglect the needs of the WiFi sector and puts Europe on a divergent path from the US and many other countries. The operator alliance has released a report outlining its ambitious recommendations for spectrum policy reform. It offers suggested guidelines to improve European MNOs’ investment, particularly in 5G Standalone.
