Emboldened by the recent RSPG announcement in the EU to allocate the upper 6 GHz band for licensed spectrum usage, the operator alliance, the GSMA, is pushing for a huge increase in spectrum. While most countries today allocate around 1 GHz for mobile use, the alliance is calling for three or even four times this amount for 6G networks.
