Industry bodies are acting to stem the rising tide of Artificial Inflation of Traffic (AIT) fraud, which has escalated from being just a peripheral issue into a major scourge for the messaging sector over the last five years. The Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) has been particularly active in promoting counter measures, having just held a joint session with the UK’s Home Office presenting updates to its Telecom Fraud Charter relating particularly to the Application-to-Person (A2P) SMS messaging sector.
