UK startup Moixa and Hitachi have announced a collaboration to build a smart grid, on an island off the southwest of England. This smart grid will combine renewable energy, battery storage and electric vehicles to balance power and usage in the Isles of Scilly – a Cornish archipelago. The project will involve building a virtual power plant (VPP) on the island using solar power and battery storage, while also integrating vehicle to grid (V2G) storage into the same network.
