Japanese conglomerate Hitachi aims to build an empire that will serve industrial enterprises on every level, called the ‘One Hitachi’ strategy. A recent project under the Hitachi Rail unit, saw the digital services subsidiary, GlobalLogic, deploy a 5G private network at a new Hitachi Rail factory in Hagerstown, in the US. The network is designed to be a blueprint for other factories in the Industry 4.0 era, and on this basis, Hitachi can sell its digital and industrial products to other firms.
