Kickstarter-backed start-up Hologram (formerly called Konekt) has launched its cellular platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) and has raised $4.8m in funding from investors led by Drive Capital. Its ambitious aim is to deploy a cellular network specifically for IoT services, and make it easy for developers of IoT modules to connect. It promises an end-to-end service for any organization looking to roll out a connected service – from cellular infrastructure-as-a-service, to a device developer kit, network management dashboard, and APIs for routing traffic and interworking with other systems.
