A few years ago, operators were excited at the prospect of addressing the diverse needs of different enterprise and industrial use cases by implementing dynamic 5G network slicing. In reality, while there are some more modest approaches to slicing being deployed, the full vision of an end-to-end platform – delivering optimized and often ephemeral slices for particular customers on-demand – is some years away for most telcos.
