As mobile operators build out networks designed for things rather than humans, they will be seeking new business models to make economic sense of connecting huge numbers of low value items with low data needs. This is likely to see a rise in wholesale activities to support specialized service providers in enterprise and vertical markets, and eventually leading to models based on network slicing.
