The Montpellier Horizon Hydrogen project, a two-year-old initiative to operate 51 hydrogen buses in Montpellier, France, and its surrounding areas, has been canceled due to its high cost. After realizing that electric buses would be cheaper to run, elected officials decided to drop the project. The €29 million project, which included a small solar-powered green-hydrogen plant, was launched in 2019 in collaboration with EDF subsidiary Hynamics.
