Poland’s Nanopure Technologies Sp.Z is entering the cathode materials market at the end of this year after success in providing additive materials to the paints and plastics industries. The move comes from significant market opportunity in solutions to the lithium-ion battery industry which improve performance, sustainability, and material intensity. Nanopure plans on launching its Polycell cathode additives by the end of the year while specifically targeting the lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) market, an unusual initial market route considering the greater interest in improving nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries for maximum vehicle range.
