NIO has filed to deploy its semi-solid-state batteries (SSSB) in 11 more vehicle models, nine of which will be SUVs while the final two will be in sedans. NIO’s semi-solid-state battery pack has an energy density of 261 Wh/kg, nearly 45% higher than the 180 Wh/kg battery pack used in its other vehicles that it purchases from CATL, the 150 kWh SSSB battery pack weighs just 20kg more than its 100 kWh predecessor while providing an extra 200 miles WLTP range.
