China’s largest oil refiner, Sinopec, has broken ground on what will be the world’s largest green hydrogen project when it comes online in 2023. With an output of over 20,000 tons per year, produced entirely through solar power, the company has eliminated the issues surrounding a lack of hydrogen buyers on the market. Instead, it will use its new green hydrogen supply to replace its current natural gas-based production, saving half a million of CO2 emissions per year.
