It’s earnings season and BP, Equinor, and TotalEnergies have all posted record profits for the year of 2022, following on from equally record-breaking announcements last week from Shell, ExxonMobil, and Chevron. The companies ranged in profit from $28 billion to $56 billion, all experiencing significant uplifts relative to the year before, as a result of the war in Ukraine’s effects on natural gas and oil prices.
