Norway is looking increasingly likely to embark on its nuclear journey with Norsk Kjernekraft having proposed building a nuclear power plant in Øygarden, using small modular reactors (SMRs) – 1.5 GW / 12.5 TWh per year aimed at the electrification of oil and gas facilities. This is the third proposal from Norsk, with one of the previous two being aimed at supplying data centers with clean, 24/7 electricity.
