Coming just two months after Brocade acquired carrier-class WiFi player Ruckus Wireless, the company has landed one of its most prestigious contracts, rebuilding all the WiFi at AccorHotels, the second largest hotel chain in the world. Ruckus will update Accor’s WiFi technology and infrastructure with a view to improving performance for both customers and the business of the hotels themselves. Usually this type of contract is reserved for incumbent telcos (who will presumably provide backhaul) but Ruckus will install new WiFi at 3,700 hotels in 90 countries, reaching 480,000 rooms.
