Hard on the heels of Ericsson’s launch of compact new 5G Massive MIMO units, Samsung is boasting of a 30% network throughput boost from its latest enhancement for its own Massive MIMO platform. The new technology is called Mobility Enhancer, and the Korean vendor says it uses advanced signal processing and AI to improve accuracy of beamforming from Samsung’s Massive MIMO antenna arrays to users who are moving around. The 30% performance claim came from a test run on Samsung’s own testbed, involving a walking user.
