Although 5G speed tests can be deceptive even when they claim to measure real world rather than headline performance, they do reveal some underlying realities. These reflect how 5G is a broader church than its predecessors extending across a 100-fold range of frequencies and aiming to satisfy a range of sometimes contradictory use cases. Lower frequencies favor coverage and reliability while higher ones achieve capacity and speed, so not surprisingly some countries can score high marks for one and low for the other, depending on their priorities.
