IoT has struggled to emerge as a coherent sector and this was still evident at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, with numerous successful deployments and products on show, but still not much harmony between the multiple vertical sectors on parade. Telcos seemed notably more strident and confident than many major vendors, with Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and SingTel among more bullish tier 1s on the subject.
