Nordic operator TeliaSonera has confirmed it is in exclusive talks with UK-based venture capital firm Zegona over a possible acquisition of Telia’s Spanish mobile unit Yoigo, the country’s fourth largest MNO. Telia, which controls 76.6% of Yoigo, was reported in February to have hired Deutsche Bank to launch the sale process. Zegona and Spanish operator Másmovil Ibercom were reported to be the main candidates, with the price expected to be between €500m ($562m) and €600m.
