There has been frequent speculation that Dish Network could, or should, team up with one or more US cablecos to improve the business case for its 5G network. Now that Dish is pursuing a wholesale-only, sliceable network model, it may hope that some cable operators will become customers for its network-as-a-service offering, saving themselves the cost of acquiring their own spectrum or rolling out their own networks.
