A 260 MW green hydrogen plant owned by Sinopec in Xinjiang is set to be commissioned at the end of May with commercial operation set for June 30th. At that point the plant will represent the largest green hydrogen project in operation but will most likely soon be overtaken by another. There are doubts over how green the plant actually is since it will only be powered by 300 MW of solar. Plug Power will invest $6 billion into three plants aimed at green hydrogen and ammonia production for export towards the European market.
