A consortium led by POSCO Group, a South Korean steelmaker, has secured a $6.7 billion deal to construct the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in Duqm, Oman. The consortium, comprising four Korean companies, a French firm, and a Thai corporate, will participate in a signing ceremony on June 21. POSCO holds a 28% stake, followed by Samsung Engineering Co. with 12%, and two Korean state-run power companies with a combined 24%. Engie SA, an energy services group from France, holds 25%, and Thailand’s PTTEP, a national petroleum company, holds the remaining 11%.
