China’s electricity consumption in Q1 2024 came to 2,337 TWh, up 9.8% year-on-year. Following on from 7% growth in 2023, these figures from the National Energy Administration (NEA) include: -primary industry up 9.7% to 29 TWh -secondary industry (the largest category at 1,506 TWh) up 8% -tertiary industry up 14.3% to 424 TWh -domestic consumption up 12% to 379 TWh China’s Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) industry now comes to some 600 companies across the supply chain, showing that while CSP is still very niche, it remains alive and has even expanded with China’s efforts to support the industry.
