Toyota has chosen to invest a further $8 billion in its EV and battery factory in North Carolina, at a time when other major automotive manufacturers are cutting back on EV-related commitments as they struggle to compete within the market. With this additional investment, the total cash cost of the plant will be around $13.9 billion and will employ more than 5,000 people.
