The US government has published an alarming piece of doctrine, its Cyber Strategy, in which the Trump administration says it will bring US cyber companies under closer purview of the government and its military strategy. This should be seen in light of Trump’s upcoming meeting with Chinese premier Xi Jinping, a nation that has run targeted attacks on critical US infrastructure, as well as many other countries. In this light, the Cyber Strategy is a show of fortitude to protect US communication networks and infrastructure against state-sponsored hackers.
