Most publications managed to cover the UK budget last week, but it came on our press day, so here we are a week late, adding our derision to the mess the Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt made of energy. Hunt decided to allocate up to £20 billion of support for what he calls the early development of CCUS (its actually very old and has failed) effectively funding projects like HyNet in the North West of England and the East Coast Cluster near Teesside, both of which will focus on the decarbonization of things like fertilizer and steel manufacture, in other words hydrogen.
