The UK and Sweden are both making progress towards 5G spectrum policies. The UK regulator Ofcom has set out its timeline for initial new spectrum allocations, while the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) launched a consultation to gauge interest in new bands. Ofcom expects to see pre-commercial 5G deployments starting in 2018 and full services from 2020, which would place the UK in the first wave of 5G nations.
