M&A & Investments SoftBank Group is acquiring DigitalBridge, a digital infrastructure-focused investment firm, for $4 billion – a 15% share price premium. With AI cited as the motivation, this adds plenty of fixed-line infrastructure to SoftBank’s sphere of influence, but DigitalBridge is also a significant tower player (via ATP, Digita, EdgePoint, GD Towers, Highline, JTower, MTP, and VerticalBrige), as well as FreshWave and Extenet on the small cell side. HPE has divested its Telco Solutions division to Indian vendor HCLTech, for some $160 million. This division houses much of HPE’s OSS assets, and HCLTech acquired HPE’s BSS assets back in May 2024 – for an undisclosed sum.
