Sprint would do better to acquire MetroPCS than T-Mobile to acquire greater spectrum coverage and scale, says a research note from Goldman Sachs. The third US cellco has more commonly been linked with TMo, especially since the collapse of AT&T’s bid to acquire that firm, and analyst Jason Armstrong notes that Sprint’s rising stock price has sparked speculation that it will soon announce an acquisition or strategic partnership.
