The new platform we first heard about back at Mobile World Congress has arrived, as Libelium launches its Smart Cities urban sensor platform. Based on its Waspmote Plug and Sense modules, Libelium says it has refined its offering based on four years’ worth of feedback from smart city projects. The impetus behind the new system is to provide more precise results from deployed sensors, which can be incorporated into the many facets that comprise a city. The new sensors include a particle, dust and pollen sensor, a calibrated gas sensor, noise sensors, and light sensors.
