Sprint Nextel’s WiMAX plans may be currently somewhat overshadowed by the company’s financial difficulties, but the operator still has the US’ most complete vision of a truly open access mobile broadband network, despite the recent high profile attempts of Verizon and AT&T to jump on the bandwagon with halfhearted gestures towards opening their networks to all devices and applications.
